Since returning from sunny California and even sun

Since returning from sunny California and even sunnier Dubrovnik, I’ve been welcomed home by rain. And I’m simply not ready to say goodbye to summer yet. I’m sure it still has more to give.

It brought me back to one of my favorite memories from this summer: floating carefree in the sea along the shores of Vis, soaking up every moment of its raw, effortless beauty.

As much as I love all the luxurious places I’m fortunate enough to visit, I could feel that my body and soul needed exactly this: a simple, unhurried escape with no expectations and nowhere else to be. And it was wonderful.

I took most of these photographs with the little Pentax film camera I always carry, along with my son’s compact underwater camera.
